W T Young and Son were established in 1978 by Willliam Thomas Young (Bill) with wife Wendy as his partner in the business as well as lifelong companion. After obtaining an Honours Degree in construction and time working as a quantity surveyor in Plymouth, Martin then worked as a site engineer and site agent for a national construction company before joining the family business in 1993.

Bill passed away 2010 but his “Belt and Braces” ethos remains instilled in the firm with attention to detail and quality being paramount.

With passion and pride in our work, it becomes obvious that our knowledge and skills help throughout the building experience with each and every client. Every step of the way, we endeavour to create the best scenario possible, be that design alterations, consideration for the best materials to use or method in which the work is executed.

Being NHBC and LABC Warranty registered, we welcome their inspectors on site whom we have a good working relationship with.

Carrying all the necessary Public and Employers Liability insurance, being a registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency, have a Health and Safety consultant and affiliated to the CITB, we tick all the boxes.
